Brek pooped in the toilet last night for the first time. He had pooped in his diaper just prior to sitting on the potty, so I guess there was still a little bit left. Still, a big moment in one's childhood. :)
Last night we went to say our family prayer before putting Brek to bed. Joe asked Brek if he would say it while I helped him. Brek immediately started talking. It was short. I couldn't understand anything he said, tho I heard his voice inflections for "Dear Heavenly Father" at the beginning, and "in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen" at the end. Once he said Amen, he climbed into bed, so we knew he was done. It was cute.
Yesterday Brek was singing the ABC song a lot. I'd never heard him sing more than the "W-X-Y AND Z" part, but he was getting most of it, and mostly in the right order, but not always. Today he asked to sit on the potty and I sang the ABC song, then I asked him to sing it. He still can't pronounce all the letters clearly, but he sang every single one, in the right place and everything. Wish I had it on video, but he doesn't perform as well for the camera. Still, it's exciting. And he's cute.
Oh, and today while I was changing his diaper, he said he wanted to "eat his penis." Shaking my head, and really wondering what to do about that one.
I was just packing up Brek's blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals (because he is staying the night at a friend's house while Joe and I are in meetings all weekend.) I asked Brek to hand me his Elmo and Baby Bear. With Elmo, Brek points out his nose and his eyes, 2 eyes in fact. :) I put Elmo in the bag and ask him to hand me Baby Bear. Brek points to his nose, his 2 eyes, his 2 ears, his 2 feet. And then Brek grabs his tummy, and labels it the penis. He might have pointed to his 2 hands as well, but I was laughing too hard I didn't notice.
